How To Clean Your Sofa Covers?
Sofa covers form an essential furnishing item of any home as they give an altogether new look to your house décor. But, keeping them clean on a regular basis is one aspect that needs to be dealt with care. Obviously! These covers get soiled when your child jumps on sofa or when you play with your dog on it. So, read simple tips that can help you maintain your sofa covers and keep them in a good condition.

Step 1- Go through the instructions
* It is important that at the time of buying sofa covers, you read the instructions given by the manufacturer for cleaning it. In case it is the first time that you are going to wash your sofa covers and you haven't read the instructions, go through them before cleaning.
* There is a hidden fabric piece provided with every cloth for testing. So, test that cloth for fastness. Let the fabric dry for sometime and then once it dries look whether the cover has retained its color or not.
* Now as per the instructions given on the product, use the upholstery cleaner. Most of the products that you use for cleaning are liquids else foams that can be directly applied on the cover.
* Use a clean rag to blot the cover and remove excess moisture so that the drying time is decreased. Finally, allow the sofa cover to get dried.

Step 2- Machine-Wash else Hand-Wash
* Identify the fabric's type, by reading the fabric-care label. Go through the instructions provided by the manufacturer for washing the fabric.
* As per manufacturer's instructions, machine-wash the cover or hand-wash it. To avoid shrinkage or fading of the fabric, wash the sofa cover in cold water. In case the slipcover is extremely large for your machine, wash it at laundromat. Now, if hand-wash is suggested by the manufacturer, use a mild detergent to wash the cover. Now, if the cover is quite large to fit in the sink, wash it in a tub.

Step 3- Iron the sofa cover & place it back
* If on the fabric label, ironing is recommended; iron the sofa cover on its reverse side. To remove wrinkles, use a spray starch.
* While the sofa cover is still moist, put it back on the sofa. This way, you can easily put the cover back onto the sofa without any shrinkage.
* At last, let the sofa cover get dried.

Tips & warnings
* Remove tough stains by applying an upholstery cleaner. Let it stay on the cover for 15 minutes before you clean it.
* Difference of color can occur in case of spot-cleaning. So, apply same strength on entire sofa cover for good results.
