Many people make the common mistake of washing spa covers with detergent soap or dish washing soap. Such washing agents should be avoided as they can damage the surface of spa covers. Make sure that you say no to use any strong cleaners like alcohol or bleaches.

It is also important for you to make sure that there is no dirt on the spa cover. Even if it is the smallest peck of dirt, it can slowly corrode the cover or cause fading of the color. Bad odor is a common problem with spa covers. If your spa cover smells bad, remove the inside foam, plastic vapor and seams of the jacket thoroughly. This will help remove any odor causing substance. While cleaning the insides of the cover, make sure that you use only a soft brush or a sponge. Once you are done with cleaning the cover, rinse it thoroughly using a garden hose. Make sure you use cold water only as hot water can damage the covers.
